There's still the possibility of a Blinx 3, it's just unlikely that it will be made by the same devs. It's really up to Microsoft on whether or not they want to do something with the franchise, but from what I've heard, if they do not show proof that they are in fact using the franchise for anything, then I believe that it can be relieved from them if another company would be bold enough to take it from them.

Forgot to mention, there's also the possibility of attempting to direct some of Microsoft's attention to the Blinx franchise, in hopes they would decide to continue the franchise.

Of course, this approach could lead to less than spectacular results, as, Microsoft being a super corporation run by investors consumed with greed, they'll attempt to turn the franchise into a cashcow, like Halo. A cash cow franchise isn't always a bad thing, as it can actually turn out to be quite successful and in some cases, a good game (see; GTA, Halo), but ideally you'd want the franchise to turn up in the hands of a competent, funded developer, whether belonging to Microsoft or not.

In the end, I personally think that if another publisher were to acquire the rights to Blinx, say Sony, Sega, or 2K, Blinx would be more likely to have a good, healthy future.

More on-topic, however, I believe that the games had solid, innovative game play. Asides from the obvious problems that the game suffered, it was an all-around great game. If there was one thing I'd wish they expand on, it'd be the story of the game and proper dialogue. Instead of introducing random characters that have little or no impact on gameplay or the story, they should seek to make said characters relevant or introduce dynamic cutscenes (Cutscenes that utilize the player's custom characters). Also the option to pick different voice sets for our characters would be awesome!

I actually did some digging around, and from what I remember, either a small group of Blinx fans, or something to that effect was trying to buy the trademark off Microsoft so that they could make a third. When I find the link, I'll post it.

I think the best way to encourage the production of a third Blinx game (or even a reboot) is to make the franchise popular enough for people to want a new Blinx game. Maybe a television series or graphic novel featuring an original story, the main troupe (Blinx, NecoJi, Pelon, Picaro and Chron) and some new characters? Advertisement and promotion are always a good idea.

I don't think there will be another blinx game unfortunately, but it is what it is. Lost to time perhaps...
